fig. VII was one of my junior films at RISD, and where I really started to develop a passion for stop-motion animation. I combined this with my love for ecology, creating a set and puppets with real leaves I preserved. This film was also my first foray into experimental animation- I used dirt, seeds, and animated under a microscope to capture intricate moving patterns on leaves and butterfly wings. Watch below!
